Office design, fit out and refurbishment help & advice

Office Fit Out Timeline

  • Engage a reputable interior design company like Arc Business Interiors to bring your vision to life or provide ideas and inspiration.
  • Provide a clear brief to the designers outlining your fit-out goals.
  • Begin construction to transform the space, including removing and installing features.

An office fit out can be an exciting time for a business; a revitalised workspace can inspire greater productivity, increased morale and therefore a better atmosphere in general. But how long does an office fit out take, and what exactly is involved in one? Here, the team at ARC Business Interiors are going to put together a timeline of an office fit out to break down what happens and when.

Office Fit Out Timeline Steps

What do you need?

It’s important that you carefully evaluate your workplace in order to work what you need from a fit-out. It can help to consult your staff, too; find out what would make their working life easier/more productive.

Find your designer

A reputable, reliable interior design company like Arc Business Interiors should be your first port of call – they’ll help your vision come to life, or, if you don’t know where to start, they can give you some ideas and inspiration.

Provide the brief

If you have a clear vision for what you’d like to achieve with your fit out, then you need to provide the designers with a brief.

Health and safety assessment

The building needs to be assessed before work can commence, so that the work can be carried out safely. This includes identifying any fire hazards or general hazards and making a record of them, resolving them before any work can continue.

Furniture purchase

Any new furniture required will be ordered, and your chosen contractor will help you find the best deal by liaising with suppliers. This should be done with plenty of notice, to account for any potential issues.

Construction

Your contractors will get to work transforming your space. Features will be stripped out, new ones added, furniture removed and furniture installed. This is the longest process of the fit-out, and depending on how complex your needs are, the length of the process will vary.

Time to move in

This is the exciting part; settling in to your new office. Hopefully your staff will be delighted with the new-look workplace, and they’ll feel invigorated by their new surroundings.
